Hi, I'm Namita.
Welcome to my blog—where leaders and founders turn setbacks into strategy and rise with purpose.

MORE ABOUT US
Elsewhere

When I first noticed my own peri-menopause symptoms—slightly late cycles, a restless night of sleep with no reason at all—I realized I was entering what many cultures beautifully call The Second Spring.

It sounds poetic, doesn’t it? A second birth. But the reality for most women is anything but poetic. It’s confusing. Subtle changes arrive unannounced—fatigue, mood shifts, unpredictable sleep—and yet, no one really talks about it. Doctors rarely prepare women. Families often don’t understand. And professional women, right in the middle of their most productive years, end up questioning themselves.

Why Women Look Beyond Traditional Medicine

When answers aren’t available in the doctor’s office, women look elsewhere. And they always have. Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, acupuncture, and herbal therapies—these are not just “alternatives.” For many women, they are the only places where their experiences feel acknowledged.

Studies show that about a third of women in peri-menopause turn to these complementary paths. And interestingly, the women most likely to explore them are usually the ones who are more educated—because they’ve learned to question, to research, to listen to their bodies.

At the same time, many physicians admit they see potential in approaches like acupuncture or herbal medicine, but they don’t feel confident discussing them. So women are left in a frustrating middle ground: traditional healthcare doesn’t fully explain their symptoms, and complementary practices aren’t seamlessly integrated into their care.

The Hidden Cost of Being a Woman

And then there’s the financial side. Women already spend more on healthcare than men. Working women in the U.S. pay, on average, nearly 20% more out-of-pocket for their care—even without counting pregnancy. That’s billions of dollars every year, just for being female.

I see it in my own life. I always surpass my HSA funds and then some, because I choose to be proactive about my health. I pay for a personal trainer, acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage—most of which aren’t covered by insurance. And yet, I consider every dollar worth it. Because these investments keep me moving, balanced, and grounded.

And it’s not just me. Many professional women who can afford it are doing the same—quietly paying out-of-pocket for alternative medicine, wellness treatments, and holistic care. Not because it’s trendy, but because it works, and because we don’t want to wait for a system that still doesn’t see us clearly in this stage of life.

Why I’m Building What I Am

This is why I feel so strongly about creating solutions for women. I realize now—I am my own ideal customer, just as Nikki Agrawal once suggested. I’m building a startup that blends ancient wisdom with modern tools, so women don’t have to stumble through this transition alone, guessing and second-guessing.

It’s not about replacing doctors. It’s about helping women prepare, track, and understand their bodies—so that when they do seek care, they walk in informed and empowered.

And more than that, it’s about giving women resources they never knew were in their reach—at an affordable price. The same ancient practices I’ve poured so much of my own time and money into—acupuncture, Ayurveda, TCM—can feel out of reach when they’re only available through expensive practitioners. But with this app, those tools don’t have to be a luxury anymore. They become accessible, practical, and woven into daily life.

Our Second Birth

Peri-menopause is not the end. It’s a transformation, a second chance, a Second Spring. But to embrace it fully, women need awareness, guidance, and support—not silence.

We deserve to be heard. We deserve tools that respect both modern medicine and ancient traditions. We deserve healthcare that matches the brilliance of our bodies.

Because our Second Spring is not declining, it’s a beginning.

Here’s to the women stepping boldly into their Second Spring.
