Hi, I'm Namita.
Welcome to my blog—where leaders and founders turn setbacks into strategy and rise with purpose.

If your monthly cycle was the trailer—quick flashes of cravings, tears, and dramatic sighs—then perimenopause is the director’s cut.

Every emotion from every month of your life, stitched together into one big feature film. And let me tell you, it’s drama, comedy, and mystery all rolled into one.

But here’s the kicker: this isn’t just my opinion. Science actually backs the drama.

A study in the Journal of Affective Disorders found that women in perimenopause are 40% more likely to develop depression compared to premenopausal women. Forty percent! That’s like saying: yes, she will cry at the rom-com she’s already seen five times.

And let’s be honest: even doctors don’t always get it. Sometimes they look at you and say you’re too young for “those symptoms.” Meanwhile, your body is practically sending smoke signals that something’s up. You know it better than anyone — because you’re living it.

And it’s not just sadness. Harvard research shows 20–30% of women experience severe mood changes during perimenopause. Translation? One day you’re glowing, the next you’re side-eyeing the dishwasher like it personally betrayed you.

The real directors here? Hormones. Estrogen and progesterone are like the sun and moon—rising, falling, pulling at your serotonin, and changing your emotional weather without warning.

Now, let’s zoom in on my story.

I experienced abuse as a child and later in marriage. I carried the weight of immigration stress and worked in toxic environments where my emotions took the hardest hit. My periods weren’t just periods—they were full-blown horror dramas.

And ten years ago, I was under so much stress that nothing worked to get me pregnant. Not fertility treatments. Not acupuncture. Not herbal medicine. My body simply couldn’t respond.

Fast forward to now, and it’s a different story. For the past two and a half years, acupuncture has worked wonders, helping me release so much, layer by layer, as if my body was preparing me for this next phase of life.

And Ayurveda? Don’t even get me started. Ancient herbs that our grandmothers quietly tucked into food, closing their eyes, trusting their wisdom, are proving to be true medicine. Food as pharmacy. Spices as healers. Nature, as the quiet supporter, we forgot about.

Here’s where I want to pause. Because this isn’t just about problems.

It’s about solutions.

Perimenopause can feel like chaos, yes. But it’s also an invitation to laugh, to share, to heal—and to support each other. Not just women supporting women. Men, too.

When men understand what’s happening, not just the hot flashes and mood swings, but the hormonal shifts, the emotional weight, and the healing power of alternative medicine—they can step in as allies, not bystanders.

Because when women are supported, families thrive. Workplaces thrive. Communities thrive.

That’s why I call this my Second Spring. Like a Phoenix, I’ve burned the old scripts—abuse, self-doubt, winters of pain—and I’m rising into bloom.

All that heaviness? Fertilizer for what comes next.

So let’s stop whispering about perimenopause like it’s a shameful secret. Let’s talk about it at dinner tables, in boardrooms, in family groups. Let’s talk about solutions—not just symptoms.

Because perimenopause isn’t the end of the story. It’s the beginning of a new season. A season where we rise, bloom, and—yes—maybe cry at another rom-com along the way.
